Born in 12 July 2002 in the historical city of Pamplona Spain, with Ghanaian parents Maira Arthuer and felix Williams, he grow up with his elder brother inaki Williams. their parents left Ghana when his mother was pregnant when nico wasn't born, with his elder brother and his father, just to give her children a better life. The couple walked through the Sahara desert barefoot, while battling starvation, thirst, robbery, and multiple other dangers. 


They then crossed the Mediterranean Sea. When they finally reached Spain, and tried to cross the border, they were caught and arrested. but with the help of a Catholic NGO, they were saved.


Nico Williams was raised and cared for by his elder brother, as his parents had to work endlessly. Nico early years were extremely tough but it only fuelled his aspirations for a brighter future. Young Nico never gave up on his dreams of bringing his family out of poverty. 


Both brothers shared a passion for football and dreamed of playing for their dream clubs. Nico Williams has played for only two clubs in his whole career. Not many know that, he joined CA Osasuna’s youth setup in 2013. after that Nico joined Athletic Bilbao academy at the age of 12. and decided to spend his future there. In May 2024, Williams was selected in the 26-man Spain squad for the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament. Williams was named man of the match in Spain's second group game of the tournament against Italy following a 1–0 victory. He scored his first goal in the European competition in a 4–1 victory over Georgia in the round of 16, in addition to providing an assist and achieving 100% pass accuracy, becoming the first player to achieve this feat in the tournament.
