so before Leaving this video, Please leave feedback about this video, so it will make me motivate

Soccer in the US has seen some big-name players join the league in the past, like David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, and Pelé. Yes, people also played in the American League NASL between 1975 to 1977

However, it's possible that Lionel Messi will have a greater impact on the sport in the US than any of these players. Since Messi joined Inter Miami, there has been a significant increase in the club's social media followers, and ticket prices for matches across the league have gone up, as fans eagerly await Messi's first game, with his new team against their own favorite teams.

More and more people are getting interested in Major League Soccer (MLS) lately. They're not just hardcore soccer fans, but also folks who don't usually watch.

Here are the impact on the club

number 1, Social media

Just one day after Messi said he'll keep playing in Miami, the club's Social media followers shot up by over 500%. Now, they have more followers than any NFL, MLB, or NHL team.

Before Messi's announcement, Inter Miami had about 1.1 million followers on Instagram. By early September 2023, that number zoomed up to nearly 15 million!

same thing with tiktok. they had about 800,000 followers. But now, just two months later, Messi join, they've got 6.7 million followers – quite impressive!

Facebook page with only about 300,000 followers. But things changed drastically once, bringing the page's followers up to around 4.8 million as of September.

Twitter's always been big in the USA. But Inter Miami had only about 180,000 followers. After the big news, the club boasts 1.1 million followers – nearly a 1000% increase!

Number 2, ticket price

Messi's presence has not only boosted social media engagement but also ticket price

The cheapest ticket used to be $25, now it's $280 to see Messi play. Everyone wants to see him,

Season ticket prices for different sections have gone up. One season ticket that used to cost $3,600 now costs $7,650, which is about $450 per game. Another example is the North Stand season tickets, which used to be $485 but are now $884.

But even with higher prices, Inter Miami tickets are still cheaper than some other sports. Football tickets cost $112 on average, and basketball can be $90 to $120! You might pay $50 to $80 for an Inter Miami game to see Messi - that's a good deal!

Number 3, TV viewership

Lionel Messi's impact in MLS extends beyond ticket sales, particularly among Spanish-speaking audiences. Since then, MLS has seen a massive increase in viewership

Apple official broadcaster of MLS, does not disclose viewership numbers, but it was reported that Messi's first week with Inter Miami had the three most-watched games ever on MLS Season Pass.

Messi's MLS debut against Cruz Azul drew 1.75 million viewers and was also aired on Univision.

Since Messi's arrival, subscribers to MLS Season Pass on Apple TV have more than doubled, and Spanish language viewership for his matches on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV has exceeded 50%.

49% of the viewership for the preseason match on MLSSoccer.com was in Spanish via MLSes.com.

Due to demand from Spanish-speaking audiences, Apple launched a new Spanish-language version of its studio show, MLS 360

After all this impact, what is revenue of inter Miami?

In December, Messi's team secured Royal Caribbean as their main jersey sponsor, and they expect their sponsorship revenue to double in 2024 compared to last season's $27 million, although the exact details of the deal were not disclosed.

The league reported a 17% increase in sponsorship revenue, and clubs have seen a 15% increase in sponsorship revenue so far this year compared to 2023. Sales on MLSstore.com have also risen by 44% compared to last year, and traffic on the website has increased by over 102% compared to the previous year.

According to Sportico's latest valuations,  Inter Miami’s valuation has gone from $600 million to a staggering $1.03 billion in 2024. The club's estimated revenue is  $200 million - a 257% jump from the club’s $56 million revenue in 2022

Meanwhile, in yet another shocking stat, the club generated a greater revenue than Manchester United and Real Madrid from their pre-season tours.

the EPL’s top clubs like Everton, West Ham United, and Aston Villa too are way behind in terms of valuation. but. there are risks associated with relying too heavily on one player, just like Barca did in the past.

But the question is, can these levels of interest be sustained in the long run? comment down below.
