born on September 8 1994, in Maia Portugal. He grew up in a middle-class family with an older brother and had a strong passion for playing football.

Education wasn't a priority for Fernandes as he focused on pursuing a football career. He dropped out of school before finishing the 11th grade. He played for Boavista FC and later joined Novara Calcio in Italy after a brief time at FC Infesta.

Fernandes faced challenges at Novara Calcio, struggling with the Italian language at the age of 17 and feeling homesick. But with the support of his friends, family, and girlfriend, who left school to be with him he persevered.

He signed a co-ownership deal with Udinese Calcio and made his Serie A debut on November 3, 2013. After three years, he was loaned to U.C. Sampdoria, where he gained more experience and attracted attention from other teams.

A significant moment came when Fernandes joined Sporting CP in Portugal and signed a five-year contract. In July 2018, he was named the Portuguese League's Player of the Year. Fernandes' journey from his humble beginnings in Maia to becoming a successful footballer showcases his talent and determination.

In 2017, Fernandes made his senior debut for Portugal and played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Portugal reached the last 16 but got eliminated. He also played a crucial role in Portugal winning the 2018 19 UEFA Nations League.

However, Fernandes faced criticism for his performances in the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament, not matching his club form. But he bounced back in the World Cup qualification play-offs, scoring two goals to help Portugal qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

He also excelled in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, finishing as the top assister with eight assists and contributing to Portugal's qualification.
